Kung Fu Monkey: Strong Kung Fu

Actually, it's "Gong Fu." But decades of pronunciation means that "kung fu" is the phrase of choice. I mean, what would happen if someone said, "My Gong Fu" is stronger than yours?"

Confusion. Lots of it.

Since our Kung Fu took the day off yesterday, we thought Kung Fu Monkey would be a nice way to finish the week . . . and give us a clear reason to post this picture.

The title of the blog in no way gives away the content. Definitely hard to classify as anything other than "a blog," although "stream of consciousness with a bit about writing" works reasonably well. Sure, the occasional political post fits in their somewhere, but without the serious ranting and raving found just about everywhere else.

The author, John Rogers, is "unfocused" (his claim), having previously done stand-up comedy, earned a physics degree (lots of funny physicists out there, I'm sure), before following scientist career path into writing scripts for television and movies.

In case you're an aspiring writer, you may want to check out a few posts on how it all works in Hollywood: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. The series (and other related "about writing" topics probably continue, but Blogger seems to have missed categorical or tag-organized posts. Perhaps they'll notice the world outside Google-land and fix it. Or not. Dare to be different, I guess.

Cheers.
