Gapers Block - Rubbernecking in Chicago
Next time you're in Chicago, wondering what's going on in the Windy City, I suggest you check out Gapers Block for a look into news and events about town. They're our choice for today's Feed of the Day, because: (a) they're about Chicago and (b) they have an interesting name.
So, what does "Gapers Block" mean? Thankfully the authors don't keep the joke to themselves, but provide a glimpse into their motivation - and who's behind the news and views. Anyhow, gapers block is Chicago's version of rubbernecking, often applied to idiots in cars who make traffic worse (and make me even later) as they look at accidents. Jerks.
As for the web publication, consider this one rubbernecking with permission. Bandwidth isn't much of a problem these days, so feel free to pause and take a look.
