RSS 101 - The Next Marketing Phenom!

HDNet produced a high-definition film of the space shuttle launch, and is distributing it free of charge. Although
the download mechanics could be confusing to some, HDNet cannot be faulted for lack of generosity. The 1.2GB film is
available via peer-to-peer, which can be accessed through HDNet’s RSS feed. Users must download Red Swoosh, HDNet’s
proprietary P2P plug-in, and must access the RSS feed in Internet Exlorer in order for the download to work. These
unfortunate limitations present a bottleneck, but everything is free and the result is a juicy piece of content on the
hard drive. Downloading Red Swoosh takes mere seconds on a high-speed connection (and you don’t want to download the
film on dial-up), and then operates transparently. This page
